Frequently asked questions

Everything you might wonder before you start flipping.

Is FlipPhonic free?

Yes — it's free to download and the free tier is genuinely useful: five Quick Start voices, Letters mode, around 40 fresh flips a week, and saving & sharing. FlipPhonic Plus ($3.99/month or $29.99/year) unlocks all 300+ voices, Sounds mode, unlimited flips, longer phrases, effects, background music and multi-voice skits. Prefer to pay once? A one-time Pro Unlock ($44.99) gets you everything with no subscription — and if you just need a quick top-up, one-time generation packs (50, 200 or 500 flips) are available in-app too.

What's the difference between Letters and Sounds?

Letters reverses the spelling of your phrase exactly as you'd write it. Sounds reverses the underlying sounds (phonemes) so the audio is closer to genuinely reversed speech — usually the better pick when you actually want to share the clip. One tap switches between them.

Do I need an account?

No. There's no account, no email login, and no profile. Open the app and start typing. Even Plus is tied to your Apple purchase — not to any account we hold.

What data does FlipPhonic collect about me?

Nothing about you. No analytics SDKs, no ads, no tracking. The only data that leaves your device is the text you type, which travels to our proxy and ElevenLabs to generate audio — neither is configured to retain it. Your favorites, history and saved voices stay on your device (and sync via your private iCloud only if you turn it on). Full details in the privacy policy.

Where do the voices come from?

They're generated by ElevenLabs, an AI voice service. FlipPhonic ships with a curated set of Quick Start voices and lets you browse the full library — hundreds of voices across gaming, dramatic, cartoon, narrator and accent styles — from inside the app.

Can I save and share the clips I make?

Yes. Tap the heart to add a clip to Favorites, and from any result you can share the audio as an MP3 — or a web link with Plus — to Messages, TikTok, Discord, or anywhere the iOS share sheet reaches.

What's new in the latest version?

A friendlier home with a Letters/Sounds switch, a redesigned voice browser, a Word of the Day with streaks, audio effects and background music, multi-voice skits, shareable web links, and iCloud sync & Family Sharing for Plus members.

What platforms does FlipPhonic support?
